Cattle Point Foundation is excited to be working with Community Mapping Network (CMN). We are exploring the use of their water pollution knowledge and mapping expertise to deliver the IT GIS system we need in our plans.
We have been impressed by their:
- Pacific Region Contaminants Atlas and their
- Georgia Strait Alliance Salish Sea Map.
- The Private Well Network (PWN) is a community-based initiative designed to encourage private well owners to protect their health through regular and affordable testing of well water quality. By sharing water quality test results, aquifer maps and general information about groundwater, the PWN aims to empower private well owners to take the necessary steps to improve their own well water quality and to prevent contamination of our common drinking water sources. The current geographic scope of the PWN is limited to the Township of Langley. We are thinking about extending it across the Gulf Islands in 12/2018.
Salish Sea Bioregion
Rob Knight and his team on Bowen Island have added a RED polygon around the Salish Sea Bioregion.

I have had a good look at it and I recommend it because all of the data can be exported in a format that would be easy to use in any GIS or on CMN web maps.
It has options for just about any water quality measurement you would want. I have the iOS version (there is an Android version too) and am planning to experiment with it in more detail – someday.
