Cattle Point Foundation is focused on the science of our great Salish Sea.
We continue to help promote the Bioregional Marine Sanctuary Vision : “To Restore Natural Animal Populations throughout the Salish Sea Bioregion to more than 50% of historic levels as soon as possible”
2017 was the year when we decided our contribution might be the development of a pollution data-mine.
2018 has been the year we started to shine a spotlight on the desperate state of the local waters and life in these waters. Science tells us the problems we face are caused by pollution of the watersheds by products from the global chemical and pharmaceutical companies.
In the longer term we are looking at the whole picture : the pollution of our Water, Air, Soil, Food and Drugs.
- Air Pollution. Air pollution is the contamination of the natural air by mixing it with different pollutants such as harmful fumes and chemicals.
- Water Pollution
- Soil Pollution
- Noise Pollution
- Radioactive Pollution
- Light Pollution
- EMF Pollution
- Thermal Pollution
- Food Pollution
- Drug Pollution
- Visual Pollution
The samples will where appropriate include sophisticated state of the art virus and bacteria detection tools.
The system we are designing allows creation and maintenance of a massively scale-able data mine of samples – used for scientific analysis; and protected against contamination using blockchain technology.
The 2018 Projects – Preliminary Plan (WIP)
In the short term (2018-2019) we will focus on the original scope – water sampling.
The water projects are in 3 categories :
- Drinking Water Quality
- River Water Quality
- Ocean Water Quality
; and in both Oak Bay and Victoria: Six projects in all.
With two extra projects :
- Shipping Lanes
- Sewage Treatment Facilities and Outfalls
We the people of the Salish Sea need to clean up our water supplies and water sheds. Spotlighting these issues will help everyone learn that Salish Sea pollution is much more than just carbon particles but is about man-made chemical pollution, EMF pollution and Algae/Virus genetic modification .
We are incubating a project which focuses on Water Quality. We call it the “Bring Back the Herring” Project.
There were once BILLIONS of herring.
